My almost new bottle of Myrrh is impossible to open.
I think the oil has turned to resin in the cap and frozen it shut.
Any one have any tricks on how to open it?
Thanks!

Hi Cat
Myrrh is mostly sesquiterpines, which is one of the heavier
constituents contained essential oils, which is why your lid got
glued to the bottle.
Try putting a little frankincense around the lid. Frankincense is
mostly monoterpenes, which is much lighter and can penetrate
through the gum and loosen the lid.
Peppermint would work even better, but then your Myrrh would
have a fragrance of peppermint.
Melaleuca would work, too. The monoterpene and phenolic oils act
like WD-40 as a penetrating oil.
The next time you have a rusty screw to loosen, try peppermint. IT
works even better than WD-40.
Hope this helps.
